Ernesto’s New Book
By Jose B. RiveraErnesto Quinonez has followed up his very successful, “Bodega Dreams” with his new book “Chango’s Fire. Mr. Quinonez attended a book signing at Carlito’s Cafe, Friday, November 19, 2004 at 6:00 PM. Mr. Quionez read from one of his favorite books. He then read from the first few chapters of “Chango’s Fire”. Which captivated those present. After completing his readings, Mr. Quinonez humbly signed the books of all who asked him. He mentioned that “Chango’s Fire” is a protest book. It is his way of bringing attention to the issue of gentrification in East Harlem and in communities like it all over the city and the country.
The story is interesting and has a great point. It is recommended reading for all.
Mr. Quinonez was very gracious with all who attended. He is sincerely interested in the well being of our community and of its residents. It is refreshing to meet someone who not only cares about East Harlem, but is also willing to do something to help.
Be sure to purchase “Chango’s Fire”. It is worth it and you can help to support a local author.
