Academy Harlem 3 is a public school option for children and families in East Harlem and surrounding neighborhoods. Our goal is to create schools where children can explore, discover their passions and talents, develop a love of learning, and be prepared to excel in the competitive global economy. Our schools are engaging, joyful, rigorous, and nurturing. Our teachers are energetic, passionate, warm, and capable and they seek to inspire and challenge children. We’re devoted to student learning and critical thinking and we believe children need to really love school in order to become life-long learners. We believe a great education goes beyond reading, writing and arithmetic and our curriculum encompasses art, science, block play, chess, and sports. We value close relationships with parents and are very communicative. The school will ultimately serve grades K-8 and is part of a network of schools across Manhattan (including 4 other schools in Harlem), the Bronx and Brooklyn.
