Student Housing

Hi,

My friend and I are both college students in New York City and and we are in dire need of finding an apartment in Manhattan that is affordable. I have noticed a few places advertising in the Village Voice and so forth that mention that have properties all over Harlem, such as on East 117th St and 118th Street, ect, where students are welcome for $800 and such. Anyway, since I am from Califonia I have no idea about the area and the housing situation does anyone know if this is too good to be true? I know that it is for other areas of Manhattan.

Also, does anyone know if this area of Manhattan houses a great deal of other students?

Thank You,
Stephanie Anderson

Hi All Prez Girl,
East Harlem is a beautiful community, but how you will see it depends on what you are use too. Check out the East Harlem Online Web site at:
www.east-harlem.com and look at the pictorial tour, history and art sections, also some recent local news would get you more info. Regardless, welcome.
