Cool Apartments?

Hello,

Does anyone out there have any connection for apartments in East Harlem? Me and my girlfriend are going to be moving to NYC in January to start a life together. We are leaving Boston at the end of August and we are going to drive across country to Alaska, where she's from. We're gonna stay there until December then move to NY. We've been apart for the last 6 months, cause she moved to Philly because of a really good job oppertunity. So it will be nice to finally be together again. But finding an apartment looks tough. I'm looking for a nice neighborhood were we can feel comfortable. A studio would be great, but I'm trying to find a 2 bedroom otherwise. I need an extra room for music/office. Any help would be grately appreciated!

Unhappy Born & Raised in El Barrio

Hello there!
I am a 24 year old Working class Latina, I've been through college while working full time and I've been looking for a "reasonalble" priced apartment for Months, I always thought that when i was ready to move out i wouldnt have a problem because I was born & raised in El Barrio, but that's not the case. If you have the $$$ to pay $1500 a month split between the 2 of you on rent then you shouldnt have too much of a problem finding a studio maybe one bedroom apartment. I on the other hand is still looking!

Yikes the prospects are scary. I just finished a computer class so hopefully I'll get a job making good money, but 1500 for a 1 bedroom or studio is not good. I was really hoping for a 2 bedroom.
