Lynching in East Harlem

Lynching in East Harlem is a fact. Children all over the world who suffer trauma find ways to relieve themselves via imaginary games or art forms. In example, children in Israel playing in the sand shooting at each other as if a war was going on in their back yards. Children in the USA after 9/11 drawing pictures in classrooms all over the city of buildings burning people with broken bones etc.

In the early 1950' on Pleasant Ave, a Black teen was found hanging from the light poll in front of Benjamin Franklin High School. It was said to be teen gang related between Italians and Blacks, a lynching..nonetheless

That was sad to read. Is there a newspaper clipping you can share with us about the incident?

Post Lynchings In New York City

It Is Probably Easier To Find A Needle In A Haystack. In The Fifties The Press Was Not A Friend Of People Of Color. However I Will Make An Effort To Get You Some Evidence...other Than Spoken Word Of Those Present...

Lynching

Thank You Jibaro For The Stats. During The Gang Wars Of The 1950's Many Lynchings Were Call Juvenile Gang War Killings. How Blacks And Latino Individuals Were Killed Was Never Described. However In Pleasantville Some Old Timers Will Tell You And Describe Hangings & Burning Etc. Now They Want To Make That Area A So Called Landmark? -no Way-unless The Truth Is Told...and a memorial is dedicated to those that were lynched in that neighborhood

I like the idea of a memorial dedicated to those who were the victims.
