Catholic calendar begins December 1 with the Season of Advent which may be like a whirlwind Lent. Practicing Catholics for the following four weeks se recojen like the fast before the feast. Of particular note within Advent are three days (tridium) like a mini semana santa Dec. 8th-Dec.12, a la que nos dio el ejemplo de como concebir, wherein people gather consecutively for prayer. December 8 is the feast day of the Virgin Mary, Immaculate Conception, patroness of the United States however it is on thanksgiving day when prayers are lifted up not so much in heaven + as across from each other in appreciation for collaborations, sharing with each other as vessels, tabernacles, "houses" of what we contain/have/are through Him, in Christ, amor de los amores as the hymn goes; Bethlehem meaning house of bread. In Parishes, on the 8th like on Saturday evenings/Sunday mornings, prayer is also soulful; in collaboration— thanks, praise, pardon, petition and the ultimate House of Bread which is why Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is silently basking in pure love. Even at times when communion cannot be received nor by practicing catholics; this particular thanksgiving (Mass) draws His Presence such that blessings, expiation, fortitude, … are received. The Holy Sacrament of Matrimony may be to be Houses of Bread, in memory of Christ, toward each other, reflected to the world, in order to move each other along into eternity. The 12th is about expectancy, fragrance, beauty, assurance, healing, building. Throughout Advent a candle is lit at the beginning of Masses. Three much like el color de semana santa, lila, symbolizing el recojimiento; on the third week, one pink (porque ya viene acercandose, oh joy) on the fourth week, one white (because by the end of Advent we have attained something from the recojimiento. Nos hemos limpiado. Y reflejamos el color de esa vela, a little more, if only for a little while). Like the fast before the feast it is a call to the conviction that we are loved as is, was, will be by the One who does not judge by silence nor appearances; a call to the mountain of at-one-ment without social accroutements and possible inner healing/healing of memories, narrowing distance-from-God, sin defined, though it feel unendurable; a call to empty out in confession in order to prepare for infillings-- preparing the manger of the soul para concebir a Cristo.
