Hi- Neighborhood Gems
Hi, All- I'm Blaine- I've lived in Spanish Harlem on 100th street for 6 years now. I just moved to 118th street btw 3rd and second- I'm pleased with the neighborhood comparatively (I hate the upper east side feel, so I'm more comfortable here).
I'm just wondering what neighborhood gems people recommend- whether it be food, music, a mix, bars, shopping, etc. Although I've been in the area for a while, the apartment I moved to feels more 'home' than my last one, so I'd like to make the most of it. So, convo starters: Best Dominican food? Best cuchifritos? ...chinese food (millions of them, what's your favorite one) Other ethnic- didn't realize you'd find up here Favorite warehouse store Bar? Sorry, I'm psyched to be where I'm at, and hoping to stay a while. It's the most affordable area in Manhattan, and I hope it stays this way (although I will admit to playing a role in gentrification- my building is clearly hipster-filled). Best |
