Nelson Denis Runs For State Senate

Former Assemblyman Nelson Denis has declared his candidacy for this year's State Senate race in East Harlem. Mr. Denis has received the endorsement of the Yorkville Democratic Club. Mr. Denis will be running against District Leader, John Ruiz in September's Democratic primary. The winner of the primary will then face incumbent State Senator Olga Mendez in November's general election. Senator Mendez has switched political parties and is now a Republican. So it may turn out to be Democrat Nelson Denis against Republican State Senator Olga Mendez.

If its a one on one race Denis may win. However if Ruiz or Serrano run on the Liberal, family party or green party in the general election as spoilers. Olga will win hands down.
