There will be a rally to suppport East Harlem local artist, James De La Vega, on April 14th. The rally will be held at 1651 Lexington Avenue at 3:30 PM.

The purpose of the rally is to support De La Vega in his effort to obtain justice. He is being threatened with imprisonment (30 days) for bringing art to the Bronx (the prosecuter is charging him with vandelism). Please come out and support James. Mr. De La Vega has in excellent fashion commercialized his art to all and will definitely make this episode in his venture worthwhile. The Judge should remand him to 30-days of more arts in the community....

Hey,
Why didn't I think of that? As you may know by now, he opted for trial rather than plead guilty in return for a year's probation. Read the press release by Sandra Palomino at:
De La Vega Opts For Trial (http://www.east-harlem.com/mt/archives/000057.html#more) .

I very proud of James. Way to Go.
