Has anyone else noticed how angry the "elder" of the community seem to be towards newcomers and younger members of the community. At a recent meeting, i walked away with the following message. We welcome newcomers, as long as they give us our props and work with us". Which translates to me do as we say, not as we do and make sure you give us all the credit. It saddens me becuase there is such potential to make a significant difference in this community. A differrence that could out last generational issues.

Listen elders should be respected especially those that are respectful to you. Politically the issues of elder versus youth should not be seen as a competitive issue. I consider myself an elder and am well aware of the contributions youth can make in politics. Don" t blame elders if you can't shine or think they mess with your strategy. Nothing is new for us, been there done that...we are the power broker and can really vote and do more often that the youth...

State senate race will be interesting. The only way to beat Ms Mendez is to insure that the democratic candidates that lose the primary do not run on the liberal or other party line.
